You can use a saline solution as a preventative measure.
A spoon full of Drain-o.
You don’t need antibiotics for a cold.
Echanacia, zinc lozenges and inhalation baths with eucalyptus or peppermint oil work really well.
well unfortunately sinus colds are caused by multitudes of microorganisms. hence the need for antibiotics in some cases for the treatment. however if the infection is caused by a virus, the antibiotics will be used as anaphylactic treatment to prevent supperinfections by the resident bacteria (normal flora)… for the eradication of the bacteria it will be hard to have a natural source for the treatment…! hence i think that antibiotics will be the better solution to resolve the issue as soon as possible…
half a shot of canadien whiskey and a spoon full fo honey. saline solution works as well
You never treat a cold with antibiotics!
Use a humidifier to increase the moisture in the air, don’t have your heater up so high keep it around 68 or it dries the air out and makes you cough more. Take a daily vitamin, drink lots of fluids including those rich in Vitamin C. My doctor says use Mucinex. There is some stuff out there called Air Born it was invented by a teacher, its just echanacia with a lot of vitamins but its supposed to help, so does Zicam.
punch a few holes an a green lime with a nife. Then put it to boil for 10 minutes turn of fire.Carefully bend your head over the pat let all vapor come over your face take deep breath. Then later cut a fraiche lime put two drop of lime juice in each nostril.

When I get that first little funny feeling in the back of my throat I start taking GOLDEN SEAL. This is an herb you can find in the pharmacy and I take 2 capsules with each meal (3 x a day). It really helps to curb the severity and length of the cold.
First allergy then it leads to sinus infection so find what what triggers this, and if you all ready have sinus infection warm salt water, and lots of juices, water etc, toflush it out of the system,,,,
When you say sinus cold, do you mean sinusitus?
Nasal spray found at health stores: The product Xlear (its really pronounced “clear”) has purified water, xylitol, saline, and grapefruit seed extract (a natural antibiotic) in it. I LOVE IT! It says that when used twice a day it prevents bacteria from sticking. I get sinus headaches ALL the time and this product takes them away! It is not addicting or habit forming either, according to the package. The down side? it cost about 14 bucks at the store I get it from for 1.5 oz…. But, it last a long time since it works so well for me. After so long, all the snot buildup (gross) just gets moving.
Another natural product I like is Funu-Thyme capsules by Natures Way. it stands for fenugreek and thyme. Even if I dont use the nose spray, this stuff clears my sinuses as well. At the store, it costs me 8.50 for 100 pills.
Also, with aromatherapy, peppermint gets things flowing. I put about nine drops in a hot bath, or I just use less drops in my candle lit diffuser. For sinuses though, I really prefer the bath because the moisture from the water helps as well.
Pine essential oil is another decongestant. Also, if you want to read up, eucalyptus and tea tree are excellent in helping to overcome sicknesses. They also help kill airborne germs so others wont get sick as well (if it is contagous). As always though, with everything I wrote about above, you should research online if any of the pills/oils should not be used with yours/others in the house pre-existing medical conditions such as diabetes, high/low blood pressure, epilepsy, pregnancy., nursing, etc.
:astly, pine, lemon, eucalptus, and other certain essential oils are the best disinfectants one can use to avoid getting sick. Since they are natural they do not harm your helth when brething them in while cleaning. Yes, synthetic chemical cleaners kill germs, but when they soak into our hands or get inhaled, they are counterproductive to our health, lowering our immune system which can make it more likely that we get sick in the future.
Essential oils are a bit pricey, but since they are so concentrated, they go along way.
Homoeopathy for total cure.
would take a long hot shower and spit out everything that comes up and get rid of it. If taking a bath I personally would never bathe with peppermint unless you want you private areas to burn like they never have before and it could hurt A LOT!! If you want to have a long hot bath then I would bath with Ravintsara, Lavender, maybe some tea tree and eucalyptus and some Epsom salts. Put a couple of drops on the inside of the neck of the shirt you are wearing, put a couple of drops on a cotton ball and put it in your heat registrar and when you go to bed put some on a cotton ball and put it into the pillow case cover I know of this amazing place that you can get essential oils and blends already made up. I would call Rae Dunphy Aromatics (1-888-563-8938) and order some sinus clear (a pre made blend that you can use) and an ultrasonic nebulizer (which is a diffuser that you put 1 cup of water into and add your essential oils to and turn on) and put it on full blast. I have ordered from her before and love the quality of essential oils and blends and it only takes a few days (depending on where you live) to get your order. That’s what I would do antibiotics are so useless, there are so many different strains of the cold, flu and everything else that antibiotics just don’t do anything. That is my opinion and nobody has to agree or disagree that’s just the way I feel. Good luck feel better soon.
This year I kept having sinus infections constantly and hated getting on antibiotics every time. So my dr recommended this nasal rinse. You can get it online or at Walgreens. It’s called Neilmed’s Nasal Rinse. You mix it with distilled water.
I started rinsing about once a week or whenever you are feeling really stuffy or sneezy. Once I started using it I haven’t had to go back to the dr!!! Yeah!! It’s a little weird at first but it doesn’t hurt at all and you know it’s working because you can see what comes out. Good luck!
As a somewhat related response, if you are having chronic colds or sinus infections, look into doing Jala Neti (or Neti). It is an Indian practice, but it keeps your sinuses clear naturally and can delay (or stop) the advance of sinus infections and colds. It is a bit awkward in the beginning, but once you are comfortable doing it, you will look forward to is as it helps keep your breathing clear, which makes things better.
Vick’s Dayquil Sinus available OTC
Golden Seal is a natural anti-biotic and is also very good at drying out you mucus membranes. It’s very bitter to taste, I mix in tea with lots of honey. Really it’s one of the most powerful herbs. Take it three times a day it you feel better.
Take two Excellent Multi-Vitamins AND
the Antioxidants A, C, E, Selenium, and
Echinacea-Goldenseal Capsules daily; double
up on the Antioxidants during cold/flu seasons.
Take this natural cough mixture that has natural herbal antiseptics to prevent sinus cold. Go to http://www.sindor.com and look for Cofrem-5.
Any long term ailment should have the attention of a verified doctor. From my own experiences, most symptoms of the cold are what’s usually addressed the cold is usually left to just run it’s course.Chicken soup, hot tea, vitamin C,plenty of liquids, any number of over the counter cold remedies for these are not antibiotics, but just for “symptoms” of the cold. And one thing people may not realize it’s not the cold air that gives you the flu or cold, but the shock to your system from warm air to cold can week en your immune system.Keeping your immune system strong during these times along with washing hands and insisting people with colds to sneeze into their shirt opposed to their hands helps.I like hauls vapor rub just a touch under the nose to help clear. And whatever you got in there blow it out don’t swallow.
